Initiative Now Reaches a Third of State’s Youth Population

On January 23, CCLP staff members Tiana Davis and Jason Szanyi traveled to Little Rock, Arkansas, to help officially launch the Juvenile Detention Alternatives Initiative in Pulaski County. Pulaski County is the third JDAI site in Arkansas, and it is the largest and most diverse county in the state. The launch was covered by TV and print media outlets, following earlier positive coverage of CCLP’s previous work on JDAI in Northwest Arkansas. At the launch, chief County Executive Judge Barry Hyde stated, “Hopefully everybody in this room knows that now is the opportunity for change, and change is what we need.”
